How to talk with kids about child abuse

Kids need to know that these things happen, and what to do if they experience them. You can let kids know about these issues without causing them harm, and a great way to do that is through story-telling.

This YouTube video of Debra Byrne reading “Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept” does a fantastic job of discussing the topic of child abuse with children, while highlighting important things that children must know - that it is not their fault, and that they are loved and safe.

In order to mitigate the global issue of child abuse, everyone must be a part of the conversation, including children.
